Amsterdam North | The White Wooden House at the Sweet Sea
The Space
In a tiny little village surrounded by water 10 km away from buzzing Amsterdam we designed a simple large wooden white house. The house has an extraordinary location standing on the border of a big lake what used to be a sea. A large wooden pier stretched out invites you to take a dive in this sweet sea.
It’s a photo-shoot location often used for a lot of brands like the Bijenkorf, Ahold, Intratuin and many more resulting in beautiful images. Famous people are port retted here in this specific surrounding with the wonderful light and amazing view.
The house appears in magazines because of the creative feeling and the unique spot. Stylists love to work on this location because of the short distance to Amsterdam where they found an idyll drowned in nature and piece. Many productions are made here that find their way to the media.
The house is surrounded by verandas, green patios and a big balcony with a view over the water until the horizon where the sun and the moon supply the pallet for an amazing painting.
The house has 4 floors with 4 compartments with there own unique interior and pallet designed according the 4 compas points. The North area is based on white and silver, West is coloured with soft blues and sweet greys. In the south a lot of green and gold is used. And the east is dressed with soft whites and sandy shades.
The house is build with natural materials and a lot of old materials from the former house are recycled. The house has many well-isolated windows, which are as much as possible sun orientated which makes it a very warm and lighthouse. The whole inside is made of wood and finished with natural and recycled products.
The interior is collected from all kind of places and you can call it pretty eclectic. The house is a mix and match from the surf club groove, the barn look, the artist atelier, the pipi langkous feeling and the serene writers atmosphere. The pure and honest and decorations makes it very authentic. Welcome at bohemia.
